What the number covers
What Rs 9,85,000 buys
A 1020 kg small-bed hospital lift, which is the configuration most nursing homes and mid-size hospitals actually order. A 1200 mm telescopic clear opening is standard and inside that figure, not a per-landing extra.
- Geared traction machine, controller and the deep cabin.
- Installation labour by our own team.
- Transport, statutory licence and registration.
- Designer cabin finish from the standard family.
- Automatic rescue device, door interlocks, light curtain and overload protection.
The civil work is yours: the shaft, the 1600 mm pit and the machine room above it, which must be at least 2500 mm wide with its own stairs and access door. We hand you the drawings and the loads before you cast anything.
What moves the price
The bed decides the machine
A hospital lift is specified around what has to fit inside it, and there are four different answers. A 544 kg wheelchair machine, a 750 kg stretcher machine, the 1020 kg small bed we publish, and a 1360 kg standard bed. Each has a different car, a different clear opening and a different price.
- Capacity and car depth. A standard bed with two attendants and a drip stand needs 2400 mm of car depth.
- Clear opening. 800 mm, 900 mm or 1200 mm, driven by the widest trolley you run.
- Speed. The wheelchair machine runs at 0.63 m/s, the bed machines at 0.35 m/s for a gentler ride.
- Duty. A lift running three hundred trips a day is rated differently from one running fifty.
Non-standard capacities are engineered to order. Tell us the bed and the corridor and we size the car around them.
Against the adjacent machine
Why it costs more than a passenger lift
Our 8 person passenger MR starts at Rs 8,15,000 and carries 544 kg. This machine starts at Rs 9,85,000 and carries 1020 kg. The gap is not just capacity.
A hospital lift needs a car deep enough for a bed rather than wide enough for a crowd, which changes the whole geometry of the shaft. It needs a wider clear opening at every landing, and it needs levelling accurate enough that a trolley wheel crosses the sill without a jolt. Get the levelling wrong and no cabin finish will fix it, because the complaint is felt by a patient rather than seen by a visitor.
If you are specifying for a clinic rather than a ward, and a stretcher is the largest thing that will ever be carried, say so at survey. The 750 kg machine may be the honest answer and it is cheaper.
