It does not carry people
A goods lift is rated for goods. If your staff need to travel with the load, you need a passenger machine rated for both, and that is a different product at a different price.
Goods and freight lifts from Rs 6,15,000 for 1000 kg at G+1. 500 to 4,000 kg. Automatic door upgrade Rs 1,20,000. 2000 kg upgrade Rs 5,85,000.
A goods lift is specified around the pallet, the trolley or the drum that has to go up, not around a person. Collapsible gates are fine for low-duty use. Automatic doors cost more, and they appear as an itemised upgrade on the quotation rather than a quiet change on the invoice.
General arrangement
The elevation is the part worth reading twice. Rise, pit and overhead are three separate numbers, and a goods shaft needs a machine room above it with real clearance. The trap door in that room is how the gear gets in and out for the next thirty years, so it is drawn in from the start rather than discovered later.
Hoistway and machine room
Two door types, two different wells. A collapsible gate needs less lift well depth than an automatic door at the same capacity, which is the real reason the gate is cheaper.

Getting the rating right
The most common mistake on a goods lift is buying for the load you usually carry rather than the load you occasionally carry. A 1000 kg machine asked to move 1400 kg twice a week does not fail on those two trips. It fails eighteen months early, on an ordinary one.
The same applies to duty. A lift running all shift in a warehouse is a different specification from one running at meal times in a kitchen, even at the same capacity. Underrating a machine to win a quotation is the single most common reason goods lifts fail early, and we will not do it.
Tell us the heaviest thing that will ever go up, how it is loaded, and how often. Those three answers set the rating.
Doors
A collapsible gate is cheaper twice over: the gate itself costs less, and it needs less lift well depth than an automatic door at the same capacity, so the shaft is smaller too.
An automatic door is worth the Rs 1,20,000 where the lift is loaded by forklift, where the opening is used many times an hour, or where the building is clean-room, food or pharmaceutical and an open gate is not acceptable.
Whichever you choose, it appears as its own line on the quotation before you sign. It is never a quiet change on the invoice.
Worth knowing
A goods lift is rated for goods. If your staff need to travel with the load, you need a passenger machine rated for both, and that is a different product at a different price.
Every capacity needs a room above the shaft with 2500 mm of clearance, and a trap door so the gear can be got in and out for the next thirty years.
A chequered plate floor takes a pallet truck. A plain one does not, for long. Tell us what rolls on to it.

Goods lifts are rated by what you actually put on them, not by the headline number. Tell us the heaviest single load, how many trips a day and whether a pallet truck has to roll across the sill.
