3. Why we are allowed to hold it

Under the DPDP Act we process your personal data on the basis of the consent you give when you tick the box on the enquiry form or start a WhatsApp conversation with us. Where you go on to place an order, we also process what is necessary to perform that contract and to meet our tax and statutory obligations. You can withdraw consent at any time, and withdrawal is as easy as giving it: email sales@laurelelevators.com and we will stop.

4. What we do with it

  • Call or message you back about the enquiry you sent.
  • Carry out the free site survey and prepare drawings and a quotation.
  • Install, test, register and hand over the lift if you order one.
  • Service the lift under warranty or an annual maintenance contract.
  • Meet our obligations under the Lifts and Escalators Act 2024 and the tax rules.
  • Measure which pages and adverts produce enquiries, in aggregate.

5. What we never do

We do not sell your phone number or your data to anybody. We do not pass your details to other lift companies, brokers or lead sellers. We do not use your floor plans or site photographs in our marketing without asking you first, in writing, for that specific building.

6. Who else sees it

Only where the work needs it, and only the minimum:

  • Our own team. Sales, survey, installation and service staff on Laurel's payroll.
  • Manufacturing and logistics partners, where your delivery address is needed to ship the equipment.
  • Government departments, for lift registration, inspection and the Electrical Inspector licence. This is a legal requirement, not a choice.
  • Analytics and advertising providers, being Google and Meta, which receive website usage data and, where you have consented, hashed contact data so we can measure and target advertising. Both are based outside India and both process data under their own policies. You can opt out of that targeting using Google Ads Settings and Meta's Off-Facebook Activity controls.
  • Our accountants and auditors, for invoices and statutory records.

7. How long we keep it

8. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act 2023 you have the right to ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, to have it corrected or completed, to have it erased, to withdraw your consent, to nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf if you are unable to, and to complain to the Data Protection Board of India if we do not resolve your grievance. To use any of these rights, email sales@laurelelevators.com with the phone number you gave us so we can find your record.

9. Cookies

The site uses three kinds of cookie. Essential cookies make the pages work. Analytics cookies tell us which pages people read before they enquire. Advertising cookies, set by Google and Meta, let us measure which adverts produced an enquiry and show follow-up adverts. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works without the analytics and advertising ones.

10. Security

Enquiry data is held in access-controlled systems and shared only with the staff who need it for your job. The website is served over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise. If a breach affects your data we will notify you and the Data Protection Board as the DPDP Act requires.

11. Children

This site is aimed at people buying or specifying lifts. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us their details, tell us and we will delete the record.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change how we use your data we will update this page and change the version number and date at the top. Material changes will be notified to customers on an active contract.
