The controller
The most common cause of poor levelling, slow response and unexplained faults. A modern controller also reports what went wrong, which shortens every future visit.
An old lift is rarely old all the way through. The shaft, the guide rails and often the motor have years left. The cabin, the doors, the controller and the drive are usually what is failing. We audit first, then replace only what the audit says.

Why it is worth doing
A lift that judders, levels badly, takes too long to answer a call or costs a fortune in callouts is usually telling you about its controller and its doors, not its structure. Replacing the whole installation means new civil work, a long shutdown and a much larger bill.
Modernisation keeps the shaft and the parts that are sound, and replaces the parts that are not. The lift comes back faster, quieter and cheaper to run, and the building is without it for days rather than months.
Where the audit says a full replacement is the right call, we will tell you that too. It is a bigger order for us, which is exactly why the audit findings go to you in writing.
What we replace
The most common cause of poor levelling, slow response and unexplained faults. A modern controller also reports what went wrong, which shortens every future visit.
A VVVF drive replaces older two-speed gear. Smoother starting and stopping, quieter running and a real cut in the electricity bill.
Doors are the single biggest source of breakdowns on an old lift. New operator, new interlocks, and a full-height light curtain instead of a mechanical safety edge.
New walls, ceiling, flooring, handrail, lighting and car operating panel, chosen from the same cabin design range as a new lift.
Automatic rescue device, overspeed governor check, new buffers and interlocks, brought up to what IS 17900 expects.
New landing panels and position indicators at every floor, which is the part residents actually see and judge the building by.
The audit
We inspect the machine, the shaft, the rails, the ropes, the doors and the controller, and we test what can safely be tested. You get a written report listing what is sound, what is worn and what is unsafe, with a recommendation against each item.
That report is yours whether or not you order the work. If it says your lift needs replacing rather than modernising, it will say so plainly.
Price
Every old lift has worn differently. A controller and door package on a G+3 residential lift and a full cabin, drive and fixture replacement on a G+8 commercial machine are not the same job, and a published from-price would only mislead.
What we can promise is the same contract as a new lift: itemised lines, the completion date in writing, and the licence and inspection paperwork handled by us.

Ask about this lift
Modernisation starts with an audit, not a quotation. Tell us the age of the lift, the make if you know it, and what is actually going wrong, and we will tell you what is worth keeping.
