Terms and conditions
This page describes how we quote and what our contract commits us to. The signed agreement is the binding document. Ask for a specimen copy before you pay anything, and read it against what is written here.
1. What a quotation includes
Every Laurel quotation is itemised. Equipment, installation labour, transport, statutory licence and registration, and the designer cabin each appear on their own line, with GST at 18 percent shown separately beneath them. The licence and the cabin are inside the headline figure rather than added later, because those are the two lines this industry most often bills afterwards.
2. What a quotation excludes
Customer-side civil work is not included. That means the shaft, the pit, the machine room where one is needed, the power supply to the machine, and any cutting or making good. The one exception is the structure lift, where the steel shaft is ours and sits inside the price. We give you the drawings and the loads so your contractor can price the civil work properly rather than guess at it.
3. Quotation validity
A quotation is valid for the period printed on it. If commodity prices or statutory charges move materially before you accept, we will reissue rather than absorb it quietly, and we will tell you which line changed and why.
4. The survey
The site survey is free and carries no obligation. The shaft drawings and the power requirement produced by it are yours to keep whether or not you order. If you take them and buy elsewhere, that is a fair outcome and it happens.
5. Completion date
Installation is 30 days from your site-ready date, written into the contract. Site-ready means the shaft, pit, machine room and power supply are complete and available to us, as defined in the agreement. If your site was ready and we run late, we pay you interest at the rate stated in the contract.
The interest rate is set in the signed agreement. Ask for a specimen copy before you pay anything.
6. Payment
Payment is staged against milestones set out in the agreement, typically on order, on dispatch and on handover. GST is charged at the rate applicable on the date of invoice.
7. Licence and statutory compliance
Registration under the Lifts and Escalators Act 2024, the statutory inspection, and the Electrical Inspector licence where it applies are handled by us and priced inside the quotation. Every Laurel product is built to IS 17900, the current Indian standard for lifts carrying persons and goods.
8. Handover
At handover you receive the load test and safety gear test records, the licence and registration papers, the operation and maintenance manual, the warranty document and the AMC terms. Training is given on site to whoever will use the lift daily.
9. Warranty
The equipment carries the warranty stated in the agreement from the date of handover. The first year of maintenance sits inside the purchase price. Extended warranty for years two and three is available and priced on the service and AMC page.
10. Maintenance
After the first year, maintenance runs under an annual contract at the published rates. Under the Lifts and Escalators Act 2024 the owner is required to hold a maintenance contract with a registered agency, so this is a legal obligation rather than an upsell.
11. This page and the agreement
This page summarises how we quote and what we commit to. The signed agreement is the binding document, and where the two differ the agreement governs. Ask for a specimen copy before you pay anything and read it against what is written here.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh have jurisdiction. Questions: sales@laurelelevators.com.
