Headline prices are GST excluded. GST is 18 percent, additional. Equipment, installation, transport, statutory licence and designer cabin are inside the number. Civil work is not, except the steel shaft on a structure lift.
What the number covers
What Rs 10,35,000 buys
A 6 person machine inside a self-supporting steel shaft at G+1. This is the only line we sell where the shaft is ours and sits inside the price. On every other product the shaft is your builder's cost.
- The steel structure, fabricated to the opening on your site.
- Glazing or cladding to the structure.
- The lift itself, usually a 408 kg gearless MRL.
- Installation labour, transport, statutory licence and registration.
- Designer cabin from the standard cabin design range.
What is not included is the foundation. The structure needs a pad designed against its own loads, and that pour is your contractor's scope. We give you the foundation detail and the loads with the quotation.
What moves the price
The steel, not the lift
The machine inside is a standard passenger lift, so the variable is almost entirely the structure around it.
- Height. Each extra stop adds about Rs 1,45,000, and most of that is steel and glazing rather than lift.
- Inside or outside. A structure standing outside the building is designed against wind as well as self weight, which changes the section sizes.
- Seismic zone. The frame and its connections are designed against the zone your building sits in.
- Finish. Full glazing, part glazing or solid cladding are three different costs.
- Access. A shaft in a two metre gap between buildings is fabricated and craned differently from one on an open elevation.
Against the alternative
Why this is not simply dearer than a passenger lift
Our 6 person MRL starts at Rs 7,43,000 and this starts at Rs 10,35,000, for what is essentially the same machine. The difference is the shaft.
On a passenger lift you build the shaft. In an existing building that means cutting into slabs, underpinning, months of work and a number your contractor gives you separately, which is very often larger than the gap between these two prices. Here the shaft arrives fabricated and is erected in days.
That is why we will not price a structure from a photograph. The feasibility, the foundation and the tie-backs are decided on site, and the audit that decides them is free.
